Professional Makeup Artistry Program
A six-month, in-person makeup course taught two days a week at our Noosa school. Designed for students who want to build a career in makeup artistry across bridal, editorial, screen, TV and film. From the beginning, we help you build your portfolio, develop your practical skills and understand the business behind becoming an industry-ready makeup artist.

A flexible online course with a five-day hands-on intensive booked alongside your study. Taught by working professionals
We’ve built our training around the belief that the best education comes from the people doing the work. From Adam and Candice to our guest educators, every subject is taught by professionals recognised for their expertise in that area.
Small classes, personal support
Every cohort is capped at 10 students so we can get to know you, your learning style and the kind of artist you want to become. Smaller classes mean more personal support, more time with your trainers and more detailed feedback as you build your technique. We are able to watch how you work, guide your brush work, refine your skin preparation, support your confidence and help you develop your signature style.
You do not need a kit to start
Kit requirements are provided before your program begins, and we guide you through building one with intention. You will know what to buy, what is worth investing in and what can wait, rather than spending money on products that will not serve your work.
Business is part of the training
We teach the business behind the artistry. From pricing, kits, bookings and client care to quoting for bridal, editorial, TV, film, lashes and brows, we help students understand how to build a freelance business with confidence. Ongoing mentorship is also part of the way we support our students beyond the classroom.
Skin first, always
Before makeup, there is skin. We teach analysis, preparation and product selection before the first brush touches the face, because skin-focused artistry is what allows makeup to perform under lights, lenses and real industry conditions. From bridal to photography, film, TV and editorial, great makeup starts with understanding the skin.
Training that travels
Our HQ Academy is based in Noosa, with flexible online learning and hands-on intensives in selected Queensland locations, including Noosa, Brisbane, Toowoomba and Cairns. Students can begin their learning online, then join us in person for practical, supported training designed to build confidence, refine technique and prepare them for real industry work.
The Educator
Adam Buechner
I’m Adam, a working makeup artist, educator and owner of Büchner Haus Academy. With 15+ years in the industry, I hold the highest level of makeup qualification available in Australia and have spent my career working across bridal, editorial, TV, education and camera-ready makeup.
I am passionate about beauty, people and education. Through my travelling masterclass series, I have taught more than 15,000 students across Australia and New Zealand, helping everyday makeup lovers and aspiring artists build confidence in their skills.
Alongside my work as an artist and educator, I have built a multi-million-dollar beauty brand, giving me a deep understanding of the business behind the industry. At Büchner Haus Academy, my goal is to help students build strong technique, develop their portfolio from the beginning and understand the opportunities available to them.
From brand partnerships and creative collaborations to bridal, editorial, film, TV and freelance work, the world of makeup is full of possibility, and I want our students to feel ready for it.

Candice Sangster
I’m Candice, a makeup artist, beauty therapist, educator and a mum - I have spent 18 years in the beauty industry, with over a decade dedicated to teaching. Throughout my career, I have worked with thousands of clients, students and aspiring artists, and one thing has always remained the same: I love helping people grow in confidence. Whether I’m in a classroom, backstage, or working one-on-one, my goal is always to create an environment where everyone feels supported, encouraged and excited to learn.
Teaching has always been at the heart of what I do. I am passionate about creating supportive and engaging learning experiences where students feel comfortable asking questions, building practical skills and understanding the “why” behind what they are learning.
Alongside teaching, I continue to work as a makeup artist, business owner and explore the many ways creativity and education can be shared online, ensuring that every lesson is grounded in current, real-world experience.
I’m so excited to provide you with an education pathway designed specifically for makeup artists, created by educators who love makeup deeply and passionately. We have built this space where makeup is the focus, creativity is encouraged and you feel supported to leave with confidence in your abilities and the opportunities that lie ahead.
